Isaiah is 4!

Last night we celebrated Isaiah’s birthday with cousins, grandparents, an uncle and aunts. He’s been counting down the days ‘til his birthday for a long time!

Halloween 2013

Caleb got to participate in his first ever costume parade at school! It was with all the other afternoon kindergarteners. (His teacher is the cat right in front of him.)

Here are the kids before we headed off to our ward’s Halloween carnival. They were pretty excited that they got to wear their costumes already, even though Halloween was almost two weeks away still.

This is Halloween night before trick-or-treating. Yes – Duane wore his costume to work and even went golfing with it on.

Elsie loves to climb and sit up with the big kids at the counter. (Looking back at the last pictures I posted of her in March makes it apparent that she’s grown a lot of hair since then!)

Our new house has three parks within walking distance. The kids love it!

Change

This spring and summer we had a lot of change going on in our family. (Hence the lack of blog posts!)

#1: Morning sickness hit. (Though it was more like all-day sickness for 2 1/2 months!) In just a couple of weeks we’ll be welcoming another little girl into our family!

#2: This was in our driveway:

We moved three months ago and now live up by Salt Lake. New house, new job, new neighbors, new city, new ward. (And more recently a newer ward, since they spilt our new ward two weeks ago.)

#3: Country life to city life.

Of course there are things we love about living here and there are things we miss about where we used to live.

#4: New school for the boys:

The boys started at a new school as soon as we moved, because they attend a year-round school that started in July. Caleb is a kindergartener and is enjoying the French Immersion program. (He says “Au revoir!” when I drop him off at school.)

Enoch is in 4th grade, and is going to experience more change tomorrow when he transfers to a new elementary school for an advanced 4th grade class. We’ll have two kids in two schools on two different schedules!

Caleb’s Black Eye

Caleb had a fight with our neighbor’s tramp-o-line and it won.

These first pictures were taken a couple days after it happened and the swelling had gone down some already. The last two were taken a few days later.

Elsie turned 1!

On Valentine’s Day we celebrated Elsie’s first birthday! Time flies too fast.

In the morning she opened a couple presents, one being her first baby doll stroller which she loves to push around. (She’s still learning how to walk, so she loves being able to walk behind this new toy.) After breakfast and presents she had a nap, then lunch, then later refused to take her second nap. So in the evening she was really tired and was ready for bed right after dinner.

BUT first we made her open a couple more presents. One was a doll, and she only held it long enough to poke it in the eye and stick her finger in it’s mouth before she decided it scared her and she pushed it away and screamed. We got through one game of red light green light with the boys. Then we quickly moved on to cake. She wasn’t impressed. She was probably wondering why she was sitting on the table with this sticky, gooey mess, and why I hadn’t let her go to bed yet.

Here are a few pictures.

The kids think it’s Spring

It is close to 50 outside, and I have my garden all planned, but I’m afraid the calendar still says January Sad smile

Look who’s learned a new trick!

Just a couple days ago Caleb ran in the kitchen to tell me that Elsie had pulled herself up to stand against the couch. She’s been working on it for awhile. We had to lower her crib a few weeks ago for fear she would pull herself up and tumble over the edge. She’s 11 months old now! I can’t believe it!

Caleb is 5!

It’s been over a month but I thought I would post some pictures from Caleb’s birthday. He had a pancakes and pajama party with 9 friends coming plus his brothers. It was fun (and a little crazy)!
